from
the outside this place looks like the home of a blackpool squatter
- the tacky neon sign clashing with the run-down properties
alongside. the restaurant is in an area that looks a little "left
behind" in it's location outside
the shiny new city centre and parking here can be difficult
at certain times.
that
said, the welcome was warm and the service very good for a curryhouse
- much to my surprise. the menu had my mouth watering and the kitchen
lived up to expectations. i had been concerned:
the walls are lined with glowing local newspaper reviews - but
most
were
so dated i started to worry that the establishment was living off
it's past glories. but the popadums were crisp and tasty, which
i always believe to be a good sign of attention to detail. i thoroughly
enjoyed my curry aswell and would certainly suggest
this to be one of the
best indian restaurant in leeds. that said, the interior decor
is almost as worn as that outside, the marketing needs
an overhaul and there is a hit-and-miss element to what you'll
get, but all-in-all a positive experience.
