a modern restaurant lounge-bar serving retro british
classics like prawn cocktails and lamb hot-pot.
located in the heart of the city,
close to the station; room was much publicised, both locally and
nationally, when it opened. the
restaurant has an energetic feel to the place, due in part to it's
colour scheme, which has a strong emphasis on purple. there is also
a distinct sense of grandeur, not least in part due to the wonderful
listed building in which it's housed. it's not to everyone's taste
- but it definitely seems to have met with approval of the glamorous
leeds in-crowd.
it has been desrcibed as "an
exciting new concept embodying funky glamour" and probably
has to be seen to be believed. most self-respecting restaurants
will not have served up anything from
this menu in a
very long time, if ever, and while the dishes are overpriced, room
is still well worth a visit if you're out with friends.
