millrace
organic restaurant
being located on a busy crossroads may be considered
to be a bad start, but once inside all is quickly forgiven and forgotten
and you can expect a pleasant and relaxed welcome as soon as you step
inside the attractive building that houses the millrace.
the restaurant has been thoughtfully laid out and there is a keen
eye for detail on display, with the solid wooden tables and stylish,
if not overly comfortable, steel-back chairs. the millrace also has
a comfy - although rather small - soft-furnished lounge upstairs
and a nice bar area, which combine to make it an ideal choice for
leisurely dining.
the menu is very simple, and whilst rather unimaginative, is saved
by being extremely well executed. the organic produce makes for flavoursome
meat and vegetables and the millrace succeeds in dispelling the myth
that all organic restaurants are overpriced. a great place for a
bite to eat with friends on a weekday evening.
