georgetown

housed in a beautiful location in the city centre that was previously home to the dyson clockmakers, this stunning colonial malay restaurant is still full of bric-a-brac that give a playful hint to the buildings past. the welcome is warm, although it is deceptive, as the service is overly attentive and can leave you feeling harassed.

the food is more interesting; well presented, tasty dishes that arrive fast and offer good value for money. there is an evident attentiveness to detail - with the food on the plate being echoed by the atmosphere: the live music, candles and fresh flowers give the impression that the restaurant is alive. the only disappointment is that this restaurant is not more full more often, as the vast open spaces accentuate any vacanies and can leave you feeling like your eating in a shop window. in summary, it's well worth a visit - you just don't want to be the only people there on a wet tuesday in january!

sometimes lacking in atmosphere, but the live music, fresh flowers and candles compliment the attention to detail shown by the chef.
